Is it time to hire a CPA?

I believe most RMTs have what it takes to manage their accounting and income tax records. At the same time, I understand that most don’t want to. For some, it makes sense to hire a professional accountant to handle everything.

You may be familiar with the concept of opportunity cost. If not, here you go …

If you spend 100-hours a year tracking receipts, updating accounting records, reconciling bank statements, filing income tax returns, and any other painful business-related thing you can think of, then that’s 100-hours you could’ve spent doing what you really love … treating clients, which at the end of the day is going to put more money into your pocket.

So what should you do?

Many RMTs love managing the financial side of their businesses; others do not. If you’re in the “I hate this” category then it may be wise to hire a chartered professional accountant (CPA) to take care of everything for you.
